Service Overview

24/7 Emergency Electrician in Liverpool, the full picture.

Everything below is what an honest, NAPIT-approved contractor will actually do for you, not what a marketing agency thinks sounds good on a website.

What it covers

A 24/7 emergency electrician responds to genuinely urgent electrical faults outside normal working hours, total or partial loss of power, RCDs that won't reset, burning smells at sockets or consumer units, exposed live conductors, and commercial premises facing trading downtime. We diagnose on-site with calibrated instruments and, where possible, make safe and fix on the first visit.

Who it's for

Homeowners with no power, no lights or a tripping RCD they can't reset; landlords whose tenants are without power; commercial and hospitality operators facing trading downtime; managing agents needing rapid response for multi-unit properties.

When you need it

The moment it happens, genuine electrical emergencies get worse the longer they're left. A circuit tripping tonight can become a wiring fault tomorrow. A burning smell is never something to sleep on.

Why professional matters

Waiting until morning to phone around means competing for whichever electrician is free that day. Booking a proper 24/7 response line means you get seen fast, diagnosed properly, and, critically, made safe before something small becomes something serious.

What Happens If You Leave It

The cost of putting it off.

Every one of these is something we see weekly. None of them get better on their own.

Burning smells escalate to fire, fast

The smell of hot plastic near a socket, switch or consumer unit means a termination is running dangerously hot. It doesn't fix itself.

Exposed conductors are shock risks, and pet / child risks

Broken faceplates, cracked switches or damaged cabling with visible conductors need isolating immediately.

Commercial downtime = lost trading revenue

A retail unit without power at 5pm on a Friday, or a restaurant with a tripped main breaker mid-service, loses more per hour than the emergency call-out costs many times over.

Tripping RCDs that won't reset are pre-fault warnings

An RCD that trips repeatedly and won't reset is telling you something specific, usually an insulation failure that will get worse before it gets better.

Our Process

How the job actually runs, start to finish.

  1. Step 1

    Call the 24/7 line

Speak to us directly, no answerphone, no call centre. We'll triage on the phone and give you an honest ETA.

  2. Step 2

    Make safe on arrival

First priority is making the installation safe, isolating the fault circuit and confirming no live conductors are exposed.

  3. Step 3

    Diagnose with calibrated kit

Insulation resistance, earth loop, thermal check on the consumer unit, proper diagnosis, not guesswork.

  4. Step 4

    Priced fix before we start

Once diagnosed, we tell you what it'll cost to fix before we do it. Approve it, we fix; hold off, we've still made safe.

  5. Step 5

    Test, certify & document

Post-repair testing and Minor Works Certificate issued, with a note of the actual cause for your file.

Benefits

Why customers stick with us.

Real 24/7 line, direct to an electrician

Not an out-of-hours answering service that calls someone the next morning.

£80 call-out, priced honestly

No inflated 'emergency premium' beyond the standard call-out fee.

Make-safe first, then diagnose, then quote

Priorities in the right order. You're never left with a live fault while we go to price the job.

Same electrician start to finish

The person on the phone is the person diagnosing and fixing.

Certified even for emergency repairs

Every emergency repair is properly tested and certificated after the fix.

Commercial prioritised for trading downtime

Restaurants, retail and hospitality prioritised on the 24/7 line where every minute of downtime costs revenue.

In Detail

Everything else worth knowing.

The specific materials, methods and situations that make this job go well, or badly, depending on who's doing it.

What counts as a genuine electrical emergency

Total loss of power to the property. Partial loss of power (one floor or one circuit dark). RCD or main breaker that won't reset. Smell of burning plastic near a socket, switch, consumer unit or light fitting. Exposed live conductors from a broken faceplate, damaged cable or pulled-out fitting. Water ingress affecting an electrical installation. Any commercial premises facing trading downtime. All of these are 24/7 line calls.

What we do on arrival

The first job on any emergency call-out is to make the installation safe, isolating faulty circuits, confirming no live conductors are exposed, and confirming the rest of the installation is stable. Only then do we diagnose with calibrated instruments. Only then do we quote the fix. This sequencing means you're never left with a live fault while we're pricing paperwork, the safety part happens first, every time.

Emergency vs urgent vs 'as soon as you can'

Not every fault is a 24/7 emergency, and we'll tell you honestly on the phone. A single dead socket in a bedroom at 11pm can wait until morning. A tripping RCD you can't reset probably can't. A burning smell absolutely can't. We'd rather triage honestly on the phone than have you paying an out-of-hours call-out for something we could see the next morning for the standard fee.

Residential vs commercial emergency response

Domestic emergencies are prioritised by safety, burning smells and exposed conductors first, dark house second, single-circuit issues third. Commercial emergencies are prioritised by safety AND by trading impact, a live retail unit with a main breaker tripped in the middle of trade is treated as high priority because every hour of downtime is quantifiably expensive. Both are handled off the same 24/7 line.

Common Questions

24/7 Emergency Electrician, answered.

Straight answers to the questions we get on the phone every week. If yours isn't here, call 07351 982452 and ask.

How much is the emergency call-out?

+

Our call-out is £80, the same day or night. We don't inflate the call-out fee for out-of-hours emergencies. The repair itself is priced separately and quoted before we start.

How fast can you respond?

+

As fast as travel from Liverpool allows for the time of day. Genuine emergencies (burning smell, exposed conductors, commercial downtime) are prioritised over less urgent calls.

Is the 24/7 line answered by an electrician or a call centre?

+

By an electrician. The person you speak to is the person coming out, or the person coordinating who is.

What should I do while waiting for you?

+

If you can safely reach your consumer unit, switch off the main isolator. Do NOT touch any exposed conductors or damaged fittings. If you smell burning, isolate that circuit at the board if you can identify it, otherwise switch off the main.

Will you fix it the same visit?

+

Wherever safely possible, yes. Some repairs need specific parts we don't carry in the van, in which case we make safe, quote the fix, and return with the parts at the earliest agreed time.

Do you cover commercial emergencies out of hours?

+

Yes, retail, hospitality and light industrial downtime is prioritised on the same 24/7 line.

Do I still get a certificate for emergency work?

+

Yes, Minor Works Certificate for any emergency repair, with post-repair testing recorded.

Do you cover outside Liverpool?

+

Yes, Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and the wider North West on the same 24/7 line. Response time varies with distance.
