Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 2026

These terms apply to all electrical work carried out by Fix Electrical (NW) Ltd (company no. 16347804), registered at Seymour Chambers, 92 London Road, Liverpool, L3 5NW.

1. Quotes & estimates

Quotes are free and, where possible, given on site. A quote is valid for 30 days from the date issued unless stated otherwise. If site conditions differ materially from those described at the time of quoting, we may revise the price after discussing it with you.

2. Call-out fee

Our call-out fee is £80. This covers attending site, diagnosing the fault and providing a quote for any remedial work. Where you accept a quote for further work, the call-out fee may be credited against the total at our discretion.

3. Payment

We accept payment by bank transfer or cash. Payment terms are stated on the invoice, typically on completion for domestic work, and by prior agreement for commercial contracts. We do not charge card surcharges. Late payments may accrue statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

4. Standards & certification

All electrical work is carried out in accordance with BS 7671 (the current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations). We are NAPIT-approved contractors and hold the JIB Gold Card and City & Guilds 2391 for testing and inspection. Notifiable works are registered with our certification body and the appropriate electrical certificate is issued on completion.

5. Workmanship & guarantee

Our workmanship is backed by manufacturer guarantees on the parts and materials we install; guarantee periods vary by product. If a defect in our workmanship becomes apparent, contact us and we will return to put it right at no cost. This does not cover damage caused by third-party alterations, misuse, or fair wear and tear.

6. Insurance

We hold £2 million Public Liability insurance covering the work we carry out on your property.

7. Access & site conditions

You are responsible for providing safe access to the property and for making us aware of any known hazards. We will treat your home or premises with care and leave the working area clean on completion.

8. Cancellation

Consumer customers have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of accepting a quote. If you request work to start within that period and later cancel, you may be liable for any work already carried out and materials already ordered.

9. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our total liability for any single job is limited to the value of that job.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England & Wales.
